Maailmankuulu rumpali Frank Beard kuollut

ZZ Topin rumpali Frank Beard on kuollut 77-vuoden ikäisenä. Beard soitti bändissä 56 vuoden ajan.

Elokuun alussa Beard jättäytyi terveyssyihin vedoten pois ZZ Topin kiertueelta. Billy Gibbons ja Elwood Francis jatkoivat keikkailua Michael Monahanin toimiessa tuuraavana rumpalina.

ZZ Top on ilmoittanut peruvansa 18.8. ja 19.8. keikat Salt Lake Cityssä ja Colorado Springsissä mutta 22.8.-23.8. keikat Austisinssa toteutuvat, koska kyseessä oleva areena oli yksi Frankin suosikkeja.

Näin bändi ilmoitti somessa Frank Beardin kuolemasta:

"Today, Elwood and I lost a great friend and collaborator, and the world lost one of the most naturally innovative drummers and a great and true son of Texas. His signature backbeat was key to keeping ZZ on top.” - Billy F Gibbons

"Following Frank’s passing, ZZ Top has canceled its upcoming shows in Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs. The band will resume its current The Big One! Tour this weekend with two dates in at Austin City Limits, one of Frank’s favorite venues and in a city that had been something of a second home for him".
